Although I do all kinds voiceovers, and I love broadcast/web commercials, I excel in the longer formats. I work hard to understand what I'm reading (corporate narrations, eLearning, medical, compliance, training, etc.) even if it's very technical and industry-specific, so that I can communicate that understanding and my genuine interest. I believe the listeners can hear the difference. Because my job is much more than just "getting the words right."
